My first "proper" fishing rod was an Edgar sealey Glastrike it had metal ferules but was a lovely rod in honey brown colour with blue whippings and a full cork handle with sliding reel grip rings. At 10ft it was probably pretty close to an Avon style rod andI was still using it occasionally up to about 6 years ago when some low-life stole it.

I have tried lawn casting and it seems to like a #5 best but that could just be me. A very light rod for the length. Anyone know anything about the maker or the model? Paul B

Sealey were more focused on coarse fishing rods. I don't remember them doing fly rods, but obviously they must have.

The Edgar Sealey - Octopus Ess - Supreme 12-foot Octopus Match Rod - round cane butt section and stepped round cane middle section with hexagonal cane top section the rod is in nice condition with all whippings in tact and no rust on the runners all joints fit together snugly and it is fairly straight it comes in the makers bag with alloy stoppers.
